How to Shop for Maternity Clothes
In case you haven’t heard, resale is the hottest new trend in maternity shopping. Translation: insanely low prices on pre-loved maternity clothing sans the buyer’s remorse. I guarantee that shopping while pregnant is the absolute best time in your life to explain away a shopping spree. Cue: “But, honey, it’s not my fault my body’s growing at 20 times its normal pace. I’m having your baby…“
Jokes aside, shopping for maternity clothes can be a daunting and even stressful task if it’s your first time. What size do you need? What pieces should you buy? Choosing the right size is actually a lot easier than you may think. [I feel your eyes rolling at me through the computer screen right now…] It’s true, though!
Heed my words: Shop for your pre-pregnancy size. Maternity clothes are designed and crafted to evolve with your changing shape. Possibly the easiest (and most affordable) pieces to shop for are maternity tops. Most are made with an adjustable tie waist for a comfortable fit at any stage of your pregnancy.
A few classic pieces are always a safe bet: cami’s, tees, and cardigans are very versatile; a comfortable pair of jeans is a must. Ultimately, your pregnancy is a chapter in the story of your life. Choose the pieces that fit your personal style and don‘t be afraid to make a statement. Just remember, you don’t have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks. And you shouldn’t for a temporary wardrobe. Let the bargain maternity shopping begin!
