Let’s face it, clothes can be expensive, but it is so much fun to look good.  There is that extra confidence that you feel when you step out of the house in an outfit that you know makes you look amazing.  Unfortunately, with money so tight these days even the most fashion conscious among us have begun to shop around for bargains.  Being pregnant does not (or at least shouldn’t) change our need to look good.  The frustrating thing about needing maternity clothes though, is that it is one more expense on top of a growing list of costs involved with getting ready for baby.

The cost of investing in a brand new wardrobe can really add up and when you think about the fact that it will only be worn for a few short months it hardly seems worth it.  Of course, you may be able to wear the pieces again in subsequent pregnancies, but the items may go out of style or not fit as well in another pregnancy if you are a different size.  Either way, maternity clothes are rather short-term use items.

It can be very tempting to just live in sweats and over-sized clothes, but that can take a serious toll on your self-esteem and can lead to typical ‘mom’ dressing that continues even after your pregnancy.  You don’t want to subject your unborn child to that kind of shame.

Luckily there is an easy solution to this dilemma.  Buying used maternity clothing is a fantastic option.  After all, the previous owner only wore it for a few short months too, so it is likely to be in great shape.   You can pick up previously worn items for a fraction of the original price and will have the satisfaction of knowing that another mom made some money back on items that she no longer needs.
